At Solomon's Porch we rejoice that
the kingdom of heaven has come!
We want to walk in the light,
be accountable to one another,
bear one another's burdens, and
proclaim the GOOD NEWS until
His return. We invite you to come
and share the new wine, the joy of
obedience, the peace of walking in
the spirit, confessing and forsaking
sin, to be clean vessels for Jesus.
Experience the LOVE of God
which knits our hearts together.

"Agape" was used frequently by early Christians to refer to the self-sacrificing love of God for humanity, which they were committed to reciprocating and practicing towards God and among one another. Christians writers have generally described "agape", as expounded on by Jesus, as a form of love which is both unconditional and voluntary: that is, it is nondiscriminating, has no pre-conditions, and is something that one decides to do. Paul described love as follows: "Love ("agape") is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  love never fails." I Cor. 13: 4-8a..  Tertullian, in his 2nd century defense of Christians remarks how Christian love attracted pagan notice: "What marks us in the eyes of our enemies is our loving kindness. "Only look," they say, "look how they love one another"  Taken from Wikipedia the free encyclopedia.

                                                      ABOUT OUR NAME:
Solomon's Porch is mentioned in Acts 5:12 as the place where the Christians gathered. We know the kingdom of God was birthed through the death and resurrection of our Christ, there was a holiness surrounding the followers of Jesus.  They were not of this world.  The new kingdom was ushered in and continues from that day until now.  Here at Solomon's Porch RI we seek to live that holy separated life.  We strive for the mind of Christ in all we do.  The fruit of the spirit must be our food.  Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control must be our daily diet so that we may live by the spirit and not satisfy the desires of the flesh.  Come and encourage and be encouraged to attain to the high calling we have in Christ Jesus.

All of our Christian exhortation to holiness, righteousness, and love towards others will never touch those things that stand in the way of true brotherhood, true intimacy, and true friendship. Only God sees what those things are. Only he sees those walls we’ve erected to keep ourselves safe. I have always said that the most astounding thing to me here at Rose Creek Village is watching God touch those areas inside of people that they have built to keep themselves safe. Some minor issue comes up; some tidbit that is less than nothing. It’s no issue at all, but suddenly a person is angry and dismayed. They complain and reason as though their very life is at stake. Maybe they even talk about leaving. There is no help for such a person.

Their life really is at stake. God is touching something personal, deep inside their heart, and now they must wrestle with God alone. Our job becomes simply to keep them safe and to shower them with mercy. They must choose whether to yield that area of their hearts to God or whether to flee. This is the sap flowing into the branch, forcing life, forcing growth. Some branches prefer to be cut off than to endure the entrance of God, for they know that behind God will come people, for God is making a place in their heart for others to find rest, love, and mercy. The lovingkindness of God is almost always displayed through people, and a tender and vulnerable heart is the ultimate place for God to display the riches of his love to people.
